The Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds has selected Benefitfocus as the new insurance administration system vendor after a competitive request for proposal process. Benefitfocus offers a single, cloud-based solution that personalizes the enrollment experience and streamlines benefits administration for more than 239,000 members.
Under the 10-year contract, Benefitfocus will provide a modernized, fully-integrated, best-practices-based insurance administration system requiring minimal customizations. The new system will replace ETF’s current health insurance system (MEBS), and support administration for other insurance programs, including life, income continuation, and supplemental benefits.
A dedicated Benefitfocus cross-functional project team will support all phases of the contract and implementation of an insurance administration system that better serves both members and employers.
ETF and Benefitfocus are currently working on project timelines and anticipate the project will take approximately 24 to 30 months to complete, with a staggered go live approach to implementation. The project team will actively engage employers and third-party administrators throughout solution design, testing, and training activities.
ETF will continue to share information on timelines, milestones, and progress in the coming months.
