The WDC will come to you!

Help your employees get the most from their WDC accounts by scheduling an onsite visit from your local WDC retirement plan advisor. Visits can include a group presentation to help employees better understand how the WDC can help them achieve the retirement they want. And afterward, retirement plan advisors can meet one-on-one with attendees for a Retirement Readiness Review.

During these no-cost sessions, an active participant and a WDC retirement plan advisor can discuss the participant’s overall retirement readiness, including their desired retirement age, investment suitability and allocation, and savings rate to determine whether the participant is on track to achieve their retirement income goals. Retired participants can also schedule sessions to discuss spend-down strategies, how long their income stream may last, and whether any allocation changes might be needed.

Invite WDC to your New Employee Orientations

If you are planning a new employee orientation, consider having your local WDC retirement plan advisor join. They can provide a plan overview and group enrollment session and help new hires get off to a great start on their retirement future.

Scheduling One-on-One Participant Advice Sessions

Employees do not have to wait for an onsite visit to schedule a Retirement Readiness Review with their local WDC representative. They can do it at any time by using the scheduler link, and selecting the “Virtual (Online) or Phone” option or a location that works for them if one is available.

Resource for Employers

You can now find WDC-approved language for employer intranet pages and or/benefits brochures on the WDC website. This language is designed for benefit guides, brochures, or your employee intranet. It includes information about the WDC and how to enroll.

Payroll Reminders

For Local Employers

  • Contact the WDC at WDC_Office@empower.com to update your employer’s contact information or request access to the WDC’s Plan Service Center (PSC) used by local employers for processing contributions.
  • Please enter a termination date in the WDC’s PSC when a participant separates from service.
  • Do not enroll employees. To enroll in the WDC, employees can call or go online themselves using the Plan Enrollment Code provided by the WDC or available in the PSC under Employee Forms.

For State Employers

  • If a new hire is transferring from another agency where they had a WDC account and they would like to continue contributing to the WDC, instruct them to email the WDC at WDC_Office@empower.com for the appropriate form.
  • Any employee earning W2 wages from the state is eligible to contribute those wages up to the IRS maximum limits for the year—including a special catch-up provision that allows WDC participants to contribute large payouts sometimes received upon separation from service.
