Important Information about Your Health Benefits for 2024
The annual open enrollment period started this week and ends on October 20, 2023.
This is your chance to:
- Enroll or make changes to your health insurance
- Add or decline Uniform Dental coverage
- Enroll in or make changes to supplemental coverage such as dental or vision insurance (apply with applicable vendor, not ETF)
- Enroll in a pre-tax savings account to save money on health care or dependent daycare expenses
Notable Changes
The annual medical deductible for the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and Access HDHP have increased to comply with federal requirements:
- Individual: increased to $1,600 (from $1,500)
- Family: increased to $3,200 (from $3,000)
GHC of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) will split into two separate networks starting January 1, 2024: GHC-SCW Dane Choice and GHC-SCW Neighbors. Both networks will include UW and Meriter hospitals and specialists.
GHC-SCW Dane Choice will include current in-network providers in Dane County.
GHC-SCW Neighbors will include current in-network providers in:
- Columbia County
- Grant County
- Iowa County
- Sauk County
- Jefferson County
- Juneau County
- Lafayette County
Important GHC enrollment note: Retirees and most employees* who are currently enrolled in GHC-SCW will automatically be enrolled in GHC-SCW Dane Choice unless they elect to enroll in GHC-SCW Neighbors or a different health plan during open enrollment. If you have a primary care provider or primary care clinic outside of Dane County, you will need to enroll in GHC-SCW Neighbors or a different health plan.
*STAR employees who are currently enrolled in GHC-SCW will not be automatically enrolled and must enroll in a new health plan during open enrollment. To keep GHC-SCW as your insurance provider, enroll in either the GHC-SCW Dane Choice or GHC-SCW Neighbors. If you are a STAR employee and do not enroll in a new health plan, you will not have coverage as of January 1, 2024.

Supporting You with Diabetes Management
Did you know the It’s Your Health: Diabetes program provides one-on-one support with a diabetes management nurse coach and reduced copays for diabetes-related prescriptions for members who enroll in the IYC Health Plan and Access Plan? Members who enroll in a high deductible health plan can still receive one-on-one support, but will have pharmacy costs as noted in their 2024 benefits materials. Call Navitus at 866-333-2757 with pharmacy-related questions. Call WebMD at 1-800-821-6591 for one-on-one diabetes management coaching and to get registered.
